Website Care

Launch is one step. The work continues.

Content changes. Software needs attention. The organization moves. We look after the website after it goes live, with maintenance and improvements sized to what you need.

How care worksMonth to month

What you get

What this work includes.

The pieces that come with website care.

  • Updates and security

Platform, plugin, and dependency updates applied and checked, so nothing breaks quietly.

  • Backups and a watchful eye

Regular backups, and someone who notices when the site is down or behaving strangely.

  • Content changes

Send the new text, images, or pages. We make the change and check it before it is public.

  • Small improvements

Time for the things that come up: a new section, a form, a fix that should not wait for a rebuild.

  • Speed and search checks

A regular look at load time, broken links, and search visibility, reported in plain language.

  • A direct line

You write to the people who look after the site. No ticket queue in between.

A good fit

This is a good fit when…

  • The site is live and nobody is really looking after it.
  • You need changes made regularly, and not enough to justify a hire.
  • Updates are overdue and you are not sure what will break.
  • You would rather spend the week on the work than on the website.
How it works

From first conversation to something you can use.

Here is how we work together on website care.

  1. 01

    Site review

We look at how the site is built, what it runs on, and what needs attention first.

  2. 02

    A plan

What is covered, how changes are requested, and how to reach us. Sized to the site you have.

  3. 03

    Ongoing care

Updates, backups, and changes happen in the background. You hear from us when it matters.

  4. 04

    A short note

A summary of what was done and what we would suggest next. The plan can change any month.

Scope

Clear before the work begins.

Care is monthly, and it stays only as long as it is useful. A small site that needs updates, backups, and the occasional change starts smaller. Busier sites, shops, or member areas move to a larger plan.

A typical engagement covers

  • Software and security updates
  • Backups and uptime monitoring
  • Content changes within the plan
  • Small improvements as they come up
  • Speed and broken-link checks
  • A direct email line and a monthly note

What changes the shape

  • Size and complexity of the site
  • How often the content changes
  • Shops, member areas, or several languages
  • How quickly you need a response
  • Sites we did not originally build

Every engagement gets a written proposal before work starts. Tell us what you need and we will send one.

Questions

The things people usually ask.

Can you look after a site you did not build?
Usually, yes. We start with a review. If the site would be safer to rebuild, we will say so before proposing a care plan.
What if we need more than the plan covers?
Extra work is quoted before it happens. Nothing larger than the plan moves forward without a yes from you.
Is there a long contract?
No. Care is month to month. Stay while it is useful.
What is not included?
Redesigns and major new features are scoped as their own projects. Hosting and domain fees are paid to those providers directly.
